There are many systemic barriers that are in place within our educational institutions that prevent equitable environments for the visible minority.

In an effort to make a conscious step towards decolonizing our teaching practices and to provide a safe and inclusive space for our future students as coloured educators, The Teacher Candidates of Colour Collective is offering a workshop around decolonizing the teacher.

The workshop will be run by Channdika, a trauma informed, compassion based, and healing centered anti-oppression Life Coach and Educational Consultant.

The workshop will take place over zoom, on Wednesday February 8th, 2023, from 6pm-7pm. Hosted and organized by TCC Co-Organizers Monica Mehmi and Puvi Balasubramaniam.

Please sign up for the event using the link below to receive the zoom link for the workshop (emailed the day before the event).

This workshop is open to all Teacher Candidates in the uOttawa B.Ed Program, we hope to see you there!
